Director of Public Policy - Fidelity International

Urban Funered is as Director of Public Policy in charge of establishing and maintaining contacts with representatives of European National Governments and policymakers, the European Institutions, public policy and government affairs representatives of other financial services firms, and with European asset management trade associations, with the ultimate aim to provide added value to clients of Fidelity International

He has spent 25+ years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Fidelity, he held several senior positions in the Swedish Ministry of Finance including as Minister at the Swedish Permanent Representation to the European Union, where he was involved in negotiations of 30+ financial dossiers including MiFID II/MiFIR, EMIR, CRD IV, AIFMD and the Banking Union. Mr Funered started his career as a lawyer in private practice, working with major law firms in Stockholm and New York, advising international and national banks and investment firms on financial regulation and public transactions, before moving on to senior legal and compliance positions in the Nordic financial services sector.

He holds LL.M., Juris Licentiate (Banking Law) and BSc (Economics and Business Administration) degrees from Lund University in Sweden and a LL.M. (International Business Law) degree from Queen Mary & Westfield College/London University.
