Deputy Head of the Asset Management Unit, DG FISMA, EU Commission
Ulf Linder has an MSc (Econ) from the Stockholm School of Economics and a MA from the University of Stockholm. After his studies he worked for several years in reinsurance and insurance companies in Sweden and in Germany. He also held a position in the Ministry of Justice where he prepared the new Swedish Accounts’ Act. In the European Commission, he has mainly worked on accounting and insurance issues. In the accounting field, he has worked on IFRS issues as well as SME accounting issues linked to the Directives. In insurance, his work had special emphasis on insurance accounting, reinsurance and Solvency II issues. From 2005-2010 he was Deputy Head of the Financial Reporting Unit. In addition, from July 2009 to January 2010 he was Acting Head of Auditing Unit. From 1 April 2010-31 January 2013, Ulf was Deputy Head of the Insurance and Pensions Unit. As from the beginning of 2013, he is Deputy Head of the Asset Management Unit.
