Sergio Albarelli

Chief Executive Officer, Franklin Templeton Italy

Sergio Albarelli is Senior Director for Southern Europe and Benelux for Franklin Templeton Investments, Chairman and Managing director for Franklin Templeton Italia SIM and Conducting Officer for Franklin Templeton France SA.

Mr. Albarelli is Vice Chairman of Assogestioni, where he also holds the chair of Corporate Governance Committee and Foreign Asset Managers Committee. He is a member of the Italian Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Committee, representing Assogestioni. He is also Vice Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy.

Mr. Albarelli started his career in 1989 as an equity analyst and moved to Deutsche Bank Securities in late 1990, then becoming a portfolio manager at DWS Italia in 1993, managing Italian and emerging markets equities. In 1995, he joined Flemings Italy as Head of Private Investments & Sales Distribution. After a significant experience at JPMorgan Investment Management Italy as Institutional Clients Relationship Manager, in 1998 he became Chief Business Officer at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management Italy (Deutsche Bank group).

In 2000, Mr. Albarelli was appointed Managing Director at Franklin Templeton Italia and in June 2005, Senior Director at group level, responsible for the Italian, Spanish and Portuguese markets. In August 2008, he added France to his responsibilities and then, during summer 2010, he added the Benelux region.

Mr. Albarelli holds a B.A. in business management (Corporate Finance) from Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
