Managing Director - Americas and Japan Client Group, Investec Asset Management

Richard is based in New York and is Managing Director, Global Advisor. He is responsible for overseeing Investec Asset Management’s global advisor business; as well as head of the Global Financial Institutions Group. He is also responsible for our business in South America. Richard originally joined the firm in 2006 as managing director to head the Americas region.

He subsequently headed up our business in Europe and then became responsible for our institutional and advisor business in North and South America; and then finally oversaw our fund distribution business in Asia Pacific.

Prior to this Richard was CEO of Janus International and was responsible for their business outside the US. He was also senior vice president at J&W Seligman in New York. Before moving to the US in 1994 Richard was based in London and was the international marketing director for Henderson Global Investors, and prior to this worked at Morgan Grenfell Investment Management Hambros Investment Management.

He graduated from the University of Leeds in 1984 with a joint honours degree in English and German.
