Non Executive Director, Carne Group

Michael O’Brien has over 25 years of experience within the asset management industry, most recently as Global Co-Head of the Asset Management Solutions business for JP Morgan Asset Management based in New York. He is also is a Non-Executive Director sitting on Carne’s Board of Directors. At JP Morgan Michael was responsible for the firm’s multi-asset, retirement and pensions, and insurance advisory businesses globally.

Previously, Michael was CEO of JP Morgan Asset Management EMEA, where he partnered with the global investment business and function heads to develop the business priorities in EMEA. Before joining JP Morgan Asset Management, he was Head of Institutional Business for EMEA at Blackrock / Barclays Global Investors (BGI).

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Limerick University in Ireland. He is an actuary (FIA) and a CFA Charterholder and is an advisor to the Investment Committee of the U.K.’s Pension Protection Fund.
